Whether it is to treat fatty liver, to increase glow on the skin or to lose weight, green tea has become a favorite of many people. The benefits of green tea in terms of health cannot be denied. But not consuming it in the right way can also cause many health problems.

Which nutrients are found in green tea?

Green tea contains many nutrients which are beneficial for health. It contains manganese, potassium, copper, iron, sodium, zinc, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. Apart from this, many antioxidants including catechins and polyphenols are found in green tea, which are helpful in keeping our health healthy.

How beneficial is green tea for health?

Dr. ,says that drinking one or two cups of green tea occasionally may not provide any special health benefit. But drinking green tea daily definitely gives surprising benefits. Green tea reduces the risk of many serious health problems.

Dr. says that drinking green tea is very beneficial for losing weight. The antioxidant called catechin present in it accelerates the fat burning process in the body. Apart from this, the amount of carbs, fat and sugar in green tea is negligible, so there is no risk of weight gain.

The caffeine present in green tea is also helpful in weight loss. But if you are thinking that just drinking green tea will reduce your weight, then it is not so. For this, it is also important to take a balanced diet and do regular exercise.

What things can be added to green tea?

Although green tea is drunk alone, some things can be added to it for taste. Honey, ginger, lemon, basil, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, turmeric or mint can be added to it. But keep in mind that do not mix all the things together. Add only one or two things to it, otherwise the green tea will become a decoction.

What is the correct way to make green tea?

To make green tea, first boil 1 cup of water thoroughly. Then turn off the gas and add about 2 teaspoons of green tea in the boiled water. Keep these leaves covered in water for 5 minutes. Filter it thoroughly after 5 minutes. If you are using a tea bag, then squeeze it well after 5 minutes and take it out.

After this, add lemon juice or honey to this green tea. After mixing it well, you can drink it. Do not use sugar in green tea at all. Green tea tastes bitter. That is why some people add sugar to it and drink it. But this does not give any benefit of drinking green tea.

At what time should green tea be consumed?

Everyone can drink green tea at different times according to their lifestyle. Drinking green tea on an empty stomach in the morning is more beneficial. However, some people cannot digest green tea on an empty stomach in the morning. Such people should not drink green tea on an empty stomach in the morning.

You can drink green tea half an hour before exercise in the morning, 1 hour after lunch or 1-2 hours after evening snack. However, do not drink green tea before sleeping at night. This can affect your sleep.

How many times can one drink green tea?

Some people drink many cups of green tea in the hope of getting more benefits, but this can cause digestive problems. Many people drink both tea or coffee along with green tea throughout the day. This habit can harm your body instead of benefiting it.

Who should not drink green tea?

People who are suffering from heart, kidney and liver diseases should not drink green tea without consulting a doctor. Apart from this, some people should not drink green tea at all. Such as-

  • Pregnant or breast feeding women.
  • Those who already have digestive problems.
  • People suffering from cataract problem.
  • People suffering from anemia.
  • Those who have migraine or anxiety problems.
  • Children under five years of age.
  • Those who have problem of insomnia.
  • People who are allergic to caffeine.
